Pitch In 7th graders are on their way to be our first group of graduates next year as 8th graders. As we think about 5 years together, we know this original crew are not only role models but testaments of the transformation that happens within their time in Pitch In. We wanted to highlight all this group has accomplished and learned over the years by paying forward the many benefits of mentorship. Next year, 7th graders will mentor our newest class of Pitch In 4th graders!

To best prepare and train these future mentors, we are dedicating the month of May to transformative leadership and learning from the many mentors that started with us in 2014! We kicked the month off it off with a super fun and interactive panel starring our mentors! Students asked their mentors about their mentoring experiences and took away some great words of wisdom. Mentors and mentees shared laughs as they all recalled certain scenarios to questions like “Whats the scariest thing about being a mentor?”

The next few weeks mentees and mentors will continue to engage in interactive activities to guide students and build up their confidence as peer leaders at LCA!
