Last week Pitch In 5th graders learned life forms move in cycles. We’re born, nurtured, we grow, we get old, and then we go back into the soil, and its the same for plants!
We were so excited to welcome our friend Dr. Huu who many students know and love from capoeria lessons!
Dr. Huu has her doctorate in medicinal ethnobotany and she spent our session sharing knowledge and her compassion for the subject with our eager-to-learn 5th graders. We time traveled back 100 years to a time when grocery stores did not yet exist and hunters and gatherers had to work together to survive and find/make food.
Our students were completely entranced by Dr. Huu and soaked up her knowledge, perfect timing for our very own garden planting this week!
